Movement Journeys
Yoga
My yoga practice is defined by marrying the breath and movement as dance partners to deepen flexibility, strength, and relaxation. My primary style is Vinyasa, but I also teach Yin and Restorative. I often use elements of Reiki at the end of my classes. Join my email list for group classes and contact me directly for privates and semi-privates.
Pilates
My style of Pilates is a mat practice utilizing HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) to strengthen the muscles, core, and cardiovascular system while burning fat and calories both during and after class thanks to the after-burn effect. My class combines static and dynamic holds, brief cardio and Tabata intervals- Tabata is a method created by the Japanese Olympic speed skating team, which has been scientifically proven to be the most effective way to exercise. No props or shoes needed, just a willingness to do your best…and water for hydration! There are modifications for every exercise, so this low-impact practice can work for everyone.
Dance
I’ve been a dancer my whole life. My dance training informs my entire movement practice and instilled in me the discipline that has been my guide. I’ve danced, all styles, from age three through college, at Connecticut College, and performed with professional companies in NY and CT. I love to teach workshops and bring the joy of dance to my community, especially through, Jazz, Hip-Hop, and Latin.
Hiking & Nature Walks
I believe that time in nature is paramount to connecting with both the self and the environment. Mindful movement through the outdoors helps us to gain new perspectives and land in the present moment through the reverence of our surroundings.
